Talk Story with Ukulele = TalkUlele The NEW KoAloha TalkUlele Story Collection
“Talk story” is the Hawaiian way of taking time to share stories with one another and “TalkUlele” is the simple act of sharing stories and the love and music of the ukulele. Sharing stories about who we are and where we come from is the simple act of saying we exist and that our lives matter. Whether you have a “KoAloha Story”, one that is life changing or just an everyday story about who you are and what drives your own passion as it relates to life, music, and the ukulele, “talking story” and sharing stories is about remembering and honoring our collective and individual histories. The KoAloha Story films were created with this simple idea of taking the time out to connect, to “talk story”, share music and the love of the ukulele. The films are really a point of departure and the genesis for creating something bigger, the online KoAloha TalkUlele Story Collection, a community story archive for Talk Story-Ukulele oral histories.
